Today is my daughter's 11th birthday. Most lessons were canceled and we only read our schoolbooks. We have had several children from our village stop by for cake and to wish her well. She received her first prayer shawl from one of the little girls. Women and young ladies cover their hair when they pray in this culture. Now I will make another cake for this evening because her father will be home and he does not want to miss out on her birthday celebration.
