I need to take a little break for a week or two because my family has been battling some nasty cases of pertussis and sadly, I am in the midst of losing a baby, although my body will not go into labor. I dare not get a D&C here in our small city as the conditions are too dangerous. I have some serious blood clotting and will probably have to travel several hours away to get things taken care of in a safer environment. It has been especially difficult for my older children since this is our second loss in a few years. We'd appreciate your prayers for us during this time.

ReplyDeleteOh Linda,
ReplyDeleteI'm in tears for you. It seems like we both lost our fifth child just within weeks of each other. And now this one. Oh, I pray that the Father would be especially close to you right now and hold you up. I pray that His presence would seem especially near and dear to you. There is a balm in Gilead. How I pray that He apply that to your heart and body and keep you from any complications.
I am so glad that you shared this. I will be praying throughout the next few days for your safety and comfort. I wish there were no miles to cross to be able to help, hug, and pray.
I pray that the Spirit intercede when words fail and that He comfort like no other person can.
He is near,
Betty

Higher Up and Further In has been one of my strongest homeschooling influences and encouragement, and I thank you for your committment to it. It encouraged me to start my own blog (herdingturtles101.blogspot.com) in hopes that someday, I may be of encouragement to others in the earlier phases of homeschooling.
ReplyDeletePlease take all the time you need to heal. My prayers are with you during this heartwrenching time. I also pray that you will find the health care that you need and for your family as well.
Sarah

Lord please hold Linda right now in the palm of your hand as your are her Great Physician. Please help her body to do what it needs to do safely. Be the Comforter she needs right now, as well as her family. Give her body and spirit health and rest. Thank you so much for the example she is to so many.

ReplyDeleteNatalie.
Dearest Linda,

You and your family will be in my prayers.

Oh, Linda, I'm so sorry to hear that you are losing a precious baby. Since I read your blog this morning I've been praying for you. May our Father give you and your family His peace and comfort during this time, and wisdom to make the decisions that must be made.
ReplyDeleteI've lost two babies through miscarriage in the last several months and it's such a hard thing to walk through. I also know what hospitals can be like in counties like yours, and the agony of waiting. I pray that God will protect you and you will get whatever care you need.
I can't imagine how people get through these things without God. I'm comforted knowing that our babies, unknown to us, are in the presence of our loving Father and the angels and all the saints who have gone before us.
The words in Isaiah 43:1-4 were a great help to me when I was waiting for my body to give up the first baby we lost.
Also, I wanted to share this prayer with you. It is from the Orthodox funeral service for infants, and I was comforted by its words:
O Lord Who watches over children in the present life and in the world to come because of their simplicity and innocence of mind, abundantly satisfying them with a place in Abraham's bosom, bringing them to live in radiantly shining places where the spirits of the righteous dwell; receive in peace the soul of Your little servant (Name), for You Yourself have said: "Let the little children come to Me, for of such is the Kingdom of Heaven."
For only Yours is the Kingdom of Heaven and to You we ascribe glory, together with Your Eternal Father and Your All‑Holy, Good, and Life‑creating Spirit, both now and ever, and to the ages of ages. Amen.
Glory to You, O God, our hope; glory to You."
If I could, I would bring you a meal and give you a big hug. As it is though, I will keep you in my prayers. Thank you for sharing this, and please keep us updated when you are able. I hope the Lord brings healing and comfort to your family as well.
With love,
Rebeca
Linda,
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry that this is happening to you. I know the pain of waiting for it to happen and the unknown. If the baby is under 10 weeks along, your body should do be able to do it. If it is bigger, it is more questionable. It seems to take forever. I will pray that your body will do it even tonight so that your anguish can be relieved by having that part over. I pray that God's hand will be ever close to you as you grieve this loss. I lost two in a row also, and then God graciously has given us two more. May the Lord be ever near you.
Feel free to email me if you have any questions on the medical side of this. If I don't know the answers, I will find someone here who does. tncgale at plowcreek.org

ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry to hear of your miscarriage. I also have had two born to heaven, as it were...I will pray for your safety, and that, if it's the Lord's will, that your Babe is safe and you're just bleeding. Make sure, before a D&C. I have heard sevral times that a Babe was safe, but Drs. all said it was gone...
ReplyDeleteRegardless, we'll be thinking of and praying for you and you family.
Momma

I'm very sorry to hear of your miscarriage. We have lost 3 babies that way. I did want to mention that, if you can get it, lobelia or false unicorn can be very good for helping your body complete the miscarriage, and shepherds purse with capsicum are good if the bleeding gets too heavy.
ReplyDeleteLindafay, I'm so sorry to hear this. It hurts so much losing one by miscarriage. They feel so much a part of you already.
ReplyDeleteMay God keep and guide you at this time.
Elisabeth (timbuck2mom)

I'm so very sorry to hear of your troubles -- and for your loss. I, too, lost 2 pregnancies in 2005. I am praying for you and yours tonight.

Linda,
ReplyDeleteI have never visited your blog before, but this short post brought tears to my eyes - I lost a baby in January. God will walk you through this valley. Even when it may not feel like He is there, He is.
I'm praying for you . . . .
Ashley
Linda,
ReplyDeleteI found your blog through another's...
I am in tears with you...we lost our fifth babe to miscarriage Feb 13th...
It is an incredibly hard path to walk...and we are still walking it. Leaning on the Lord and each other is the only way we've gotten this far. A song that has helped to uplift me is Praise You In This Storm by Casting Crowns...even in the midst of a storm, I need to praise Him for He knows best...even when I cannot understand it.
Our babe was 11 weeks old...I didn't have a D&C...to prevent infection, my midwife put me on high doses of Vitamin C, Echinacea, and Red Raspberry Leaf. Perhaps these would help you as well.
You will be in my prayers...as hard as our loss was, I cannot imagine experiencing it twice...
Blessings,
Laurie
I forgot to say that I came here from With Great Joy. She was kind enough to share your blog with us.
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry with you. I ask the Great Comforter to hold you in his all powerful loving arms. The best advice, encouragement I received when we lost our babe years ago was this: "Embrace it and walk through the pain right into Jesus' arms. He is the ONLY one who truly knows and understands all that you are feeling and will feel. But if you walk through it with Him, He will grow you through this." Thanks for letting me share...(didn't realize how much I needed to hear those words myself right now, for the here and now!!! What a GREAT BIG GOD we have. God bless you. May you see his mighty hand in all of this.

Melissa
