Our Table Manners

(I've had several requests for these, so I am posting them.)

OUR TABLE MANNERS
Wait for mother to eat before eating.
No elbows on the table.
Sit up straight.
Use bread or knife to push your food onto your fork, not your fingers.
Do not speak with your mouth full of food.
Take small bites of food.
Chew with your mouth closed.
Sip a drink, don’t gulp.
Don’t reach, ask.
Keep used utensils on your plate, not on the table.
Keep your free hand in your lap, not on the table.
Always offer the last of something to others first.
Eat whatever is put in front of you.
Ask to be excused before leaving the table.

  1. Thanks for sharing your ideas in this area. This is an area I've neglected to instruct my children on, and am anxious to include this in our curriculum for the remainder of the year.

  2. This is a great list....we also ask the children to thank the cook for a "yummy meal" and to clear their plates (which can be a little treacherous with pre-schoolers!)

  3. Thanks, this is something we will be starting next week.
